		<description>I sanitized the original post since (shockingly enough) the FAA actually seems to be doing an investigation into what went wrong on their end.

I&#039;m guessing it&#039;s only because there&#039;s been lots of press over this incident and everyone else (especially the military) wants to be sure it doesn&#039;t look like they were shirking their duties by not getting the fighters airborne sooner when in fact the FAA was at fault for the delay.

My original post might have been construed as a foregone conclusion into any investigation (even though my experience has been that that&#039;s normally how the FAA handles its investigations).

We all know what happened though, and it will be interesting to see if the investigation discovers it as well...</description>

Speaking of faa managers, those indefatigable web-surfing guys at the front desk, I hope that Ted T will be sure and dissect this quite major screw-up for us all to see in his next QA briefing.  I&#039;m not holding my breath.</description>
